The rug may have bulges that will prevent it from laying flat on the floor. This occurs due to tight rolling during shipment. It may take a day or two for the rug to relax. If the problem persists please put a heavy flat object on top of it for sometimes and it will help in solving the problem.

Shedding

During first use, you may see some shedding of the wool pile. With any wool rug, this may be an usual occurrence, but this doesn`t show the real wear ability of the rug.

Cleaning

The main way of cleaning is vacuuming with regularity .Any grease marks can be removed with normal wool detergents.. The frequency of cleaning varies according to the traffic the rug receives. Caked on dirt is difficult to remove, so you need to be careful to prevent this from happening.

Professional Cleaner

Depending on your personal preferences and also on the state of your rug, you may call for a professionally cleaning. You may be sure of certain things before calling for professional help:

Be sure that the cleaner knows how to clean your particular type of rug. The process of cleaning in the case of a hand-tufted rug is a lot more different from cleaning a normal carpet!

Verify the state of the rug with the cleaner. Note the stains and damage before it is cleaned. Get a signed receipt and guarantee for the work to be done.

Spot Cleaning Instructions

You have to clean immediately if you spill anything on the rug. This will help in preventing the stain from setting in. Remember, once the stain sets in, it becomes that more difficult to clean it.

Never rub a spill, as it forces the spill deeper into the rug. Always, blot with clean white cloth. Removing as much moisture from the spill as possible by blotting with a clean, white, absorbent cloth is the key.

Use lukewarm water containing a wool cleaning liquid to remove any residual stain.

If water does not help, you can always use a solvent to remove a spill. Remember to pretest the solvent on a small area of the rug by applying a few drops, then blotting with a clean, white, absorbent cloth.

Always, use clean tap water to remove any residual cleaner, and absorb any remaining moisture with dry towels. When dry, vacuum pile to restore texture.

If the preceding steps do not help in proper cleaning of the rug, send it to a reputable professional cleaner.
